Resumen

Muchas palabras se quieren aglomerar a la hora de hablar de un lugar llamado Senkata, ubicado en El Alto, ciudad infinita. Entre imágenes icónicas de cholets, historias de lucha social, la feria de Alasitas y muchos minibuses en el horizonte, existe el taller del artista plástico Mario Coarite. Vale la pena detenernos en su obra y realizar una crítica de arte a su más reciente exposición en la galería El Faro titulada “Marcas de sol en cuerpos de barro”. Introducirnos a su pintura nos lleva a discusiones sobre percepciones de la modernidad, que serán complementadas a través de una entrevista realizada al artista en su estudio de Senkata. La mirada particular sobre la ciudad, inquietud característica de los artistas modernos en el siglo XX, se activa en El Alto en los ojos del joven artista en nuestra Bolivia contemporánea. Esta relación dimensional toma forma en Senkata llevándonos a pensar en conexiones con el arte global.
